From the Highway to the Sky: Why I Built Aero Skyline Shop

Ever since I was a kid, I couldn't stop looking up.

Every time a plane crossed the sky, I stopped whatever I was doing and watched until it disappeared. While other kids dreamed about becoming athletes or rock stars, I had one dream — to sit in that cockpit and fly.

Life had other plans. I grew up, took on responsibilities, and found myself behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler instead of a Cessna. Thousands of miles of highway, state after state — and every single time I passed an airport, I felt that same pull I had as a kid.

The dream never left. It just waited.

37 Hours and Counting

Today I have 37 hours of flight time logged. To some pilots that might sound like the very beginning — and it is. But those 37 hours represent something bigger than flight time. They represent a promise I made to myself that I would never stop chasing this dream, no matter how long it takes.

Flight training is expensive. It takes money, time, and dedication. For a truck driver with a family, finding that money isn't easy. So I had to get creative.

My Daughter Changed Everything

Here's the part that really fired me up.

My daughter — she wants to be a pilot too.

The same dream, two generations. When she told me, something shifted. This wasn't just about me anymore. This was about showing her that dreams don't have expiration dates. That passion is worth fighting for. That her father was going to do whatever it took to make sure both of us earn our wings.

So we built Aero Skyline Shop — together.
